6 Reasons To Begin Self Improvement And Own Your Life At 18 And Under

By July 25, 2018 March 3rd, 2020 No Comments

With the lack of coming of age rituals in modern society to turn boys into men, the best thing you can do as an under 20 is begin the process of serious self-improvement. Here are just a few of the benefits gained from taking charge of your own life.

1. You Can Actually LIVE In Your 20’s With Online Income

The average path: high school, college, leave with debt and work a job you hate all while staying out of shape and marrying a cow wife because that what everyone else does. Not good, not rich, not fulfilling.

Making money online is a new frontier and we are just beginning to reap the benefits. Whether you want an extra couple hundred a month for some extra spending money or want to go all in and live off of online income is up to you.

When your income is taken care of, life becomes infinitely more enjoyable.

Financial anxiety? Gone.

Health? Better than ever.

More travel? Yes.

More time for art, music? Of course.

When you have control over your self, health and wealth you have much more control over your life. Guys barely older than me in Nate Schmidt (21) and James Holt (19) have more money and more control over their lives than guys 3x their age.

2. You Can Be In The Top 10% Physically Of Men By Age 21

The modern man is a pathetic soul in a shapeless body. Unlike the lost souls of the mid 40’s, you can claim the body biology meant for you to have.

By putting in the effort in crafting an aesthetic physique, that self-discipline you have kindled transfers off into other aspects of your life as well. It builds the personal responsibility required to run an online business, properly care for other aspects of your health and put serious effort into relationships and skill building.

While most teenagers either don’t lift weights at all, or quit after required high school sports training, you can have a powerful, godly physique after just a few years of proper training along with high quality nutrition.

3. You Can Take More Risks

You are young, which gives you significant advantages to the old guys. What they have in experience, you have in the time and ability to take risks.

Life’s meaning is found when you leave constricting order and enter the realm of chaos. The unknown is dangerous, but it is also where your purpose is. Most people never find their purpose because they settle for a constricting, soulless job at the wageslave factory. They never discover who they are and never become a fully self-actualized individual, hell bent on fulfilling their inner drive.

As a young guy, you have time on your side. Like in the gym, your recovery is faster than the older guy, so take smart, calculated risks when you can. We can bounce back quicker when tough times arise, and still have enough life in us to learn from our mistakes and bounce back strong.

But because you have time on your side, that does not mean you can get complacent and relax into your 20’s. It means you figured the game out early, so if anything, your legacy should be larger and more expansive than the older guys.

4. Your Relationships Will Get Stronger

When you begin the process of self-improvement, you will quickly find out who supports you and who is resentful and wants to drag you down.

Where does this resentment come from? It can come from many things, but one of the common reasons is miserable people do not like when others close to them decide to work on being less miserable. Their ego is attacked as they now live in proximity to someone who is doing the things they could do, if they weren’t so lazy and useless.

While it can be painful cutting off those you love, it is necessary for your growth into self-actualized adulthood. All inhibitors to your goal of becoming the best version of yourself must be completely out of your life.

But, those that stick around and support you to all hell are worth their weight in gold. While motivation is something internal, the loving support of strong friends and family members can alchemically enhance your drive. It’s an exponential effect that can cause rock solid, lifelong bonds to form.

5. You Will Attract Opportunity

The universe works in interesting ways. When you visualize what you want, and work towards it obsessively, the universe orients towards your goals and opportunity arises from that. Who are the gatekeepers of opportunity? Older people who are more successful that you are.

Older people like kids which act above their age. An in-shape teenager who is polite, dresses well and is in the pursuit of meaning is like a bright star in an otherwise opaque, dark sky.

In the age of digital reality, it also greatly helps to have a strong online presence which stays consistent to your brand and carries that “above your age” aura.

Never expect favors and gifts, but in my experience, yung’uns who fulfill the above requirements will surely be more likely to receive favors, advice and opportunities from the successful.

6. You Will Have Meaning In Your Life

The most addictive drug is not on the FDA drug schedule, it can only be found inside: it’s called meaning.

You can never be happy all the time. Happiness is a fleeting emotion, just like sadness and anger. Chasing for the next high of “happiness” leads you down the dark path of hedonism.

What sustains a man is meaning. Meaning is when your actions contribute to a greater goal. Meaning is found in sacrifices, to your family, country, God and yourself.

When you put the burden of your own life on your shoulders and take complete responsibility for your success, everything you do now has meaning. Taking the extra step to wash the dishes, write an extra 300 words or get those extra reps in has a compounding effect on the rest of your life. It is a ripple effect. By working hard today you create a better tomorrow.
